JLL’s energy and sustainability expert will address key building and public-sector stakeholders, innovators and disruptors in New York
With the rapid growth of cloud services, more and more companies who don’t occupy standalone data centers are locating their servers in office closets. NRDC estimates that these “accidental data centers” make up 1/3 to ½ of energy loads within commercial real estate. So, how do facility managers and owners deal with this unanticipated and significant energy burden?
This is the challenge that JLL Senior Vice President, Dana Schneider, will be tackling as a speaker at VERGE Salon NY: Next-Gen Buildings & Cities, on Tuesday, September 16, in New York City. This day-long event will shine a light on the people and organizations using technology to fuel innovation in smart buildings and cities, and how these innovations accelerate sustainability solutions. The event will bring together a group of influential building and public-sector stakeholders, innovators and disruptors to explore the future of our cities and buildings, and how to achieve results that bring economic and social value to owners, occupants and cities.
At the session, “How to tame Accidental Data Centers in Commercial Real Estate,” Dana will be sharing her experiences about the growing “accidental” data center issue along with preventative steps that can be taken to address the phenomenon proactively.
